Visit to Dole

To discover all the facets of this Jura town, the best way is to follow… the Perched Cat! A playful nod to Marcel Aymé, who spent his childhood in Dole, the Perched Cat trail invites you to discover, at your own pace, the essentials of this charming Jura town.

Enter the archways, look up to admire the details of the facades, notice certain statues or fountains, and of course, discover the iconic sites of Dole's heritage, such as the Notre-Dame Collegiate Church, the Hôtel-Dieu, or the Rue du Collège de l’Arc.

Don't hesitate to take the side paths as you please: right next to the Louis Pasteur's birthplace, for example, a passageway leads you to the banks of the charming Tanners' Canal.

Follow it and enter Passage Raynaud, a surprise awaits you! Upon your arrival in Dole, take the time to stop by the Tourist Office on Place Grévy, which will provide you with all the necessary information, including a map to follow the Chat Perché trail.

The Hospices de Beaune

Located just 40 minutes from the hotel, the Hospices de Beaune museum is a must-see! The history of the Hospices Civils de Beaune began in 1443 with the desire of Nicolas Rolin and Guigone de Salins to build a hospital: the Hôtel-Dieu. The founders performed acts of charity and patronage, thus establishing a tradition that has allowed the Hospices de Beaune to endure through history in exceptional circumstances. The short-stay hospital offers the services of a hospital in a town of 23,000 inhabitants (emergency room, intensive care, maternity, pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, etc.). The unique character of this hospital lies in the importance and nature of its heritage, comprised of, on the one hand, a historical monument, the 15th-century Hôtel-Dieu, which has not housed patients or elderly residents since the early 1980s; and on the other hand, a prestigious 60-hectare vineyard encompassing the finest appellations of Burgundy. All these vines come from bequests and donations, and their production is auctioned annually on the third Sunday of November, as part of the world's most famous charity wine sale. Thus, through its heritage, this hospital plays a leading role in the two major activities of Beaune and its region: tourism and wine. More information on visits, opening hours and prices can be found by clicking on the link above!

The Wine Route

Le Saint Antoine is located 40 km from the Wine Route. This visit is ideal for discovering the winemaking heritage of Burgundy's great wines. Many estates organize tastings and cellar tours by reservation.

We recommend Domaine Philippe Germain, a partner for several years; their wines are highly appreciated by our clients.

Located in the heart of a region rich in winemaking heritage, Domaine Philippe Germain welcomes you to Nantoux, a stone's throw from Meursault (21 Côte d'Or, Burgundy).

It was in 1995 that Philippe took over the reins of the family estate, succeeding his parents. At the time, the estate comprised 9 hectares of vines.

Philippe Germain wanted to expand his business by acquiring new vineyards and thus extended the property to 13 hectares.

Subsequently, in 2008, Philippe's nephew, Maxime Champaud, decided to join his uncle at the estate to pursue his passion for winemaking. Since his arrival, Maxime has added 6 hectares of land.

Today, the estate comprises 19 hectares of vines and produces an average of 100,000 bottles per year.

The vines are cultivated without herbicides, pesticides, or insecticides, and with non-carcinogenic fungicides. The Philippe Germain Estate participates in the Phyto Challenge, recognized by the Chamber of Agriculture, which aims to minimize the use of pesticides in order to respect both nature and the product: wine. The estate is certified HVE (High Environmental Value) level 3. All winemaking and aging processes are carried out using organic farming practices.

The Philippe Germain Estate offers numerous prestigious Burgundy appellations, with wines that are easily approachable in their youth. All are aged in oak barrels.
